Anne has been with Greater Spokane Progress, GSA’s affiliate organization, from the beginning, and is passionate about increasing the capacity of organizations and leaders to create change. Anne has over 25 years of experience with grassroots organizing and advocacy, working nationally, regionally, and locally in Spokane and around the West on environmental and social justice issues.

Karen Stromgren (She/Her)

Administrative and Network Coordinator

Karen is a proud Muslim, mother, and grandmother. Her family is everything. She is passionate about learning and exploring, especially through travel that immerses her in different cultures and histories. With its stunning shades of blue, the ocean holds a special place in her heart. She believes in the power of community, not just being there, but being present. She is committed to fostering equity and understanding that meaningful change starts from within. She is also the Executive Director of Muslims For Community Action And Support and is on the board of Human Rights Spokane.

Brimo Nyinkuany (He/him)

Brimo Nyinkuany is the Executive Director of United Society Against Climate Melatonin, formerly known as the Koyom Initiative, where he leads efforts to address the intersection of climate justice and community well-being. A founding board member of the Sudanese Community in Washington, Brimo is a former Lost Boy of Sudan and a dedicated advocate for refugee and immigrant communities. He is fluent in Swahili, Arabic, and two other Eastern African languages, and works to advance language access, cultural preservation, and equitable policy solutions. His advocacy bridges global and local challenges, with a deep commitment to social justice, climate resilience, and community empowerment

Lorna Walsh (she/her)

Lorna has over 20 years experience in a variety of non-profit leadership positions. Lorna is actively engaged in the community as a volunteer with both non-profit and civic organizations.

Tina Morrison (she/her)

Tina serves as Secretary Treasurer of the Spokane Regional Labor Council and is the Vice President of the Professional Musicians of the Inland Northwest, Local 105 of the American Federation of Musicians.
